2008 Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec
Tasting Notes | Awards | Reviews | 2005 Vintage
Hand-picked from low-yielding, estate grown vines, this wine is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc and 15% Malbec.
Using minimal filtration, the intense varietal flavours are expressed within an impressively rich and long palate. Some naturally occurring sediment may remain. This wine has the balance and structure to improve over the next 15 years.
Tasting notes from winemaker James Kellie.

A complex, intense palate of plums, blackberry, mint and chocolate-coated coffee beans. A mid palate of velvety tannins and fine-grained spicy French oak lead to a lingering mocha finish.

93/100 James Halliday 2012 Wine Companion “Fragrant cassis and blackcurrant aromas, the elegant medium-bodied palate following down the same track, but with the addition of plum from the malbec, and the flavour and texture ex 24 months in French oak.”
