I know we traditionally have a pretty high standard with our limited release Chardonnay . . . well, I have to say this 2009 vintage has to be my favourite yet.

It’s soft, it’s creamy, it’s got excellent balance and structure . . . beautiful mouthfeel (mmm yum) and we only produced 75 cases . . . it really should be $35 a bottle, but right now it’s only $22.50 when you are buying a case! visit the shop

Ready for something new for the cellar? The Moombaki Cab Blend has earned quite a following over the last few years, and we have worked hard to keep the high benchmark for the wines.

Previous vintages have attracted an array of medals and industry awards. This eagerly anticipated vintage has a lot going on – amazing intensity of flavours, a rich palate, balanced by fine tannins. In style, it has more in comparison with the 2004 vintage (we reckon). Sourced entirely from the MOOMBAKI vineyard, and handpicked by our dedicated mob, the 2007 fruit was pristine. Now I’m sure most of us don’t need much of an excuse to open a good bottle of red in this weather. When it’s been made thoughtfully, with a balanced ecological footprint, and supports business with integrity, then it must be even easier to part with your money . . . so go ahead! Order here.

MOOMBAKI Shiraz for Red Cross Bushfire Appeal

In thinking about some way we could contribute to those in need, we have decided to dedicate the release of our 2007 Shiraz to the victims of the bushfires in Victoria.

When you purchase a case at the very reasonable price of $270 (come on, it’s only $22.50 a bottle), we will make a donation to the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal of $40 for every case sold over the next 4 weeks. PLUS 10% from all other case sales will be donated.

I hope we can sell loads, because right now profits don’t matter so much (but communities do), and raising money and contributing this way has to get better results than a lamington drive!

2007 MOOMBAKI Shiraz Release

Over the summer we released our new Shiraz at the cellar door, and it has been well accepted into the MOOMBAKI fold. It’s youthful yet, but early signs are showing that this is sure to please the MOOMBAKI Shiraz lovers.

Once again it is a 50:50 blend of MOOMBAKI Denmark block, and Frankland River. 2007 was a reliable vintage – we got some great fruit off the vineyard, good even ripening, and intense varietal flavours. It is drinking well now, but its cause would be further advanced by adding to your cellar.

And if you can’t wait – well, it’s pretty quaffable now! Keep in mind that the previous 2 vintages of this wine earned a reputable 6 gold medals and 94 points each from James Halliday – so get in quick and make a donation at the same time.

2008 Classic White Release

After stretching the last of 2007 Classic we are very relieved to release the new one, and it is in a really approachable style.

It’s like a lovely, fresh, bottle of sunshine… tropical fruit… with a clean finish. Perfect for summer relaxing and sharing.

Moombaki 2005 Reserve Release

2005 was an excellent vintage in the Great Southern Region of Western Australia and from our reds produced we have selected, together with James Kellie, three of the best barrels for further maturation to become the inaugural MOOMBAKI Reserve.

Comprised of a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, this special wine is dedicated to Morriss Watson – our viticultaural mentor and valued friend who has guided us to become one of the premier wineries in the region, having himself contributed close to 50 years to the industry.

The Cabernet Blend and Shiraz from which we selected the reserve have gone on to win between them 3 Gold Medals from reputable shows as well as a 4 and a half star rating from WINESTATE and a 94 rating from James Halliday (details on website). You will certainly be rewarded for further
cellaring of this wine.

The wine has been packaged in a specially produced layflat 6 pack and is available for purchase for $55 per bottle or $300 per 6 pack (free freight on 6 pack).
